We Are Parents & Voters Seeking Change

Ben Gitenstein

I am a proud SPS parent and a former candidate for the school board. I joined this recall campaign because I want to see new leadership at SPS. I believe it’s our responsibility, as active citizens, to hold our leaders accountable.

Rebekah Binns

I am the parent of a toddler, kindergartener, and 1st grader in SPS. I have a history of working with strategically underserved communities in Seattle as an SPS teacher in high-poverty schools and as the Community Engagement Coordinator at Byrd Barr Place. I am a proud resident of 98118 and have lived here for the last 11 years.

Nancy Bacon

I teach nonprofit governance. A school board exists to ensure accountability to our community, our laws, taxpayers, and most importantly our kids; Seattle Public School deserves the kind of leadership that builds public trust. President Rankin has failed in her duty to provide it.

Janai Ray

Janai Ray is a dedicated parent of three children in Seattle Public Schools, committed to ensuring that every child has access to a high-quality education in a safe, supportive environment. As an active member of the community, Janai has seen firsthand how the current administration’s decisions have failed to prioritize the well-being and success of our students. Frustrated by the lack of accountability and the growing gaps in resources and support for families, Janai is now working to hold leadership accountable through a recall effort. Believing that education is the cornerstone of our children’s future, Janai is passionate about advocating for policies and leaders that truly serve the needs of students and the broader community.

Annie Becker

I’m a public health research scientist, kinship care provider, and current parent to 4 kids in SPS. I joined the fight to recall Liza Rankin because she’s willfully inflicting irrepressible harm on our most vulnerable communities.
